Hoppy Easter!

Avery's first Easter was dampened by rain, rain, and more rain.  No Easter egg hunts here.  But it also noted Grandma's return from China!  Thanks grandma for the super cute Easter dress!!!

Avery....The Last Nine Months!

Avery at 9 months!

It is a little late, but better late than never, right. Avery turned 9 months old on March 18, 2013.  She is growing up so much!! At her 9 month check-up, she weighed in at 19 pounds, 9 ounces and measured at 27 inches.  Her favorite activities include crawling and some walking with assistance from mama and dada, playing with Bailey and his toys, reading Maisy books, and watching Wheel of Fortune (she loves to hear the bells ding each round).  Her hair is growing pretty long.  She regularly munches on Gerber puffs.  She loves the blueberry and banana flavors. She has two bottom teeth and more on the way.  She has also started to verbalize more sounds, so we expected her vocabulary to expand soon.

Gerber Graduates Puffs....Success!

GRADUATES® Puffs – Banana - Naturally Flavored with Other Natural Flavors

We have tried off and on for weeks now to get Avery interested in Gerber Graduates Puffs.  At first, we tried the strawberry banana flavor. She did not enjoy those at all.  In fact, she gagged and then choked on them.  So we changed course and tried the plain banana flavor.  Avery has never demonstrated an interest in them at all until tonight (March 10th).  I was sitting on the sofa eating my dinner (enchiladas) when Avery came strolling down the sofa to where I was sitting.  She reached up for me to grab her.  She sat on my lap salivating at my enchilada.  I decided it would be the perfect time to try and get her to eat some puffs (for the upteenth time).  It was a complete shock, but she did not gag or throw up the puff.  In fact, she ate four more.  I think we are making progress.  She still has no desire to hold the puffs or put them in her mouth herself.  But, hey, I am just excited that she enjoyed the puffs.

Sleepy Princess

If there is one thing that Avery dislikes the most, it is taking naps, which results in a tired little girl at night. For example, see the below video link.

Avery at 8 Months!

Things have been so busy around our house that we are just now getting around to taking and posting Avery's pictures at 8 months! Avery is definitely a mobile little girl.  She is crawling around everywhere.  It is a workout to chase her around the house.  She also pulls up on anything and walks down the sofa while holding on.  It will not be long before she is walking.

She is now eating breakfast and dinner in addition to her normal bottles of formula and mommy milk.  Her favorite book is "Hop, Skip, and Jump Maisy."  She loves to see the pop-ups.  We recently purchased four more Maisy books for her to read.

She also has started "dancing." She enjoys standing up and bouncing up and down.

She has almost figured out how to do "patty cake." She also LOVES to clap! It is absolutely amazing to watch her develop and grow each day.
