On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, we celebrated Avery's 2nd Birthday! We started off her birthday with a surprise from Grandma and Grandpa Curran. Grandma made Avery a big "2" and a birthday sign for the yard! She loved them so much. After we got dressed, we had breakfast at Chick-Fil-A, then headed to Little Rock. We went to the trampoline park and then stopped at All Aboard restaurant for lunch. Avery loved how the train delivered our food to the table! After all our excitement, we had to come home to take a nap.

Avery's Second Birthday!
We celebrated Avery's Second Birthday on June 14, 2014, with a party at Sonshine Academy in Conway. She was happily surrounded by lots of family and friends! She enjoyed "play time" in the gym and "cake time." Oh, and how could I forget....present time. She meticulously opened each and every gift! She received lots of awesome presents. Avery was also blessed to have her godmother-Theresa Johnson-at her party too! Theresa traveled all the way from Chicago!

Avery's Big Girl Room ~ May 11, 2014
After many discussions on when to convert Avery to a big girl bed, John and I finally took the plunge and purchased a twin size bed for Avery. On Mother's Day, we switched out her bed and started the transition. We have yet to finish everything, but we are slowly completing the transition. Here are a few sneak peaks of the transformation.
Below are the before pictures:
Transformation in process...

Avery's first night in her big girl bed did not go as planned. She struggled with the transition from her crib, which she had really outgrown, to her new big girl bed. We had talked up her big girl bed for weeks, but she was just not 100% prepared for the change. For the first week, either John or I laid in the floor next to her bed until she fell asleep at which time we would make a military or ninja like crawl to covertly leave the room. After the first week, we started offering a few M&Ms if she would sleep in her big girl bed each night. We also bought two night lights for her room. Both the Ms and the nigh lights have added in making less ninja like evenings. We will hopefully have her room completed in the next few weeks.

The headboard would not fit right on the frame, so John decided to drill new holes in the frames with some assistance from Grandpa Curran.
