Avery's Six Months Pictures

We recently received Avery's six month pictures that we took at Hendrix.  We love them! And we cannot believe how big our little girl is getting and how fast.

Active Avery

Our little girl has become super active since officially crawling.  She is all over the place crawling and pulling up.  I truly think she is going to attempt walking in the near future. Below is a cute video of Avery playing around at Mimi and Poppi's house.

Happy Valentine's Day

Becoming a mother has put many things in life in perspective and redefined my perceptions of other things.  (Wow, that is a very vague yet loaded sentence.)  I can honestly say that over the past eight months my concept of love has been redefined.  I used to consider "love" to be defined as an attachment or connection between two people based on a mutual admiration for something usually defined by some outward display of affection, reliance, or embrace. Since Avery's arrival this concept has changed....I now see "love" in a simple smile, a yawn, in a splash of water at bath time, in a face with tears strolling down, and in that sweet face sound asleep in my arms.  It utterly amazing me how much LOVE this little girl shows us daily.

Every day Avery

One of Avery's favorite and every day activities is standing up in her bed, which was recently lowered.  We have discussed lowering it even more, but then I would have difficulty putting her to bed.  So, for now, she will just enjoy standing up and looking out.  At least, she is strengthening her leg muscles.

Another one of Avery's new favorite things to do is odd yet funny faces and things with her tongue.

Avery and Grandpa

It is so special to see Avery interact with both sets of her grandparents. She truly loves them! You can absolutely see the connection she shares with them on her face.  That bond was very evident recently when we stopped by grandma and grandpa's house.  She was having a ball hanging out with grandpa.

Avery's Bed

This past Sunday (February 3, 2013) we decided that it was time to lower Avery's bed after discovering her kneeling in her bed and then standing up.  Oh, how fast she is growing up!

First Visit to the LR Zoo

On Saturday, February 2, 2013, we picked up Mia (a.k.a. Avery's big sister) and went to the LR Zoo.  Grandma and grandpa had previously purchased Avery a season pass to the LR Zoo.  So we thought since it had finally warmed up that we would take a short trip to check out the various animals at the Zoo.

It was a little windy, so we made sure that Avery was bundled up.  Grandpa buttoned up her coat. She is always Miss Inquisitive. 

After checking out the apes, we continued on to look at the penguins.

At this point, Avery was tired and not interested in looking at the animals much. 

Mia and I took a ride on the train at the LR Zoo.

And, we also rode the carousel.

We had a fun, yet tiring, day on our first adventure to the LR Zoo.  I do not doubt that it will be the first of many adventures. 

OH, and before I forget, we looked at something very special while at the Zoo.  Grandma and grandpa purchased a brick in Avery's honor at the Zoo.  So for years to come, she will be able to go to the Zoo and see her name in stone. That is pretty special!! Thank you grandma and grandpa!!!
