Avery Goes to the Pumpkin Patch
Today (October 13, 2013), we visited Schaefer's Pumpkin Patch to find the perfect pumpkin for the fall and to take some super cute pictures of Avery. It is absolutely amazing how much difference a year makes. Avery had so much fun: watching the other kids, looking at the pumpkins, hanging out with GaGa (Grandma and Grandpa Curran depending on the context), and eating a cherry snow cone. Oh, and, and we picked out a pumpkin too.

Avery's Boyfriend
Although she is only fourteen months old, Avery is already "hitting" on the older guys....watch out John! This is Avery and her "boyfriend," Maddox. Yes, he is three years old. She likes more mature men. LOL!
Avery Lately
I have not been the most current mommy blogger lately, so here is a "catch up" post as to what has been going on lately. Avery is 14 months old and into everything! Her most recent activity is climbing everything. As exhibited below. You cannot leave her unattended for any length of time because she is always trying to climb something....be it Bailey's dog gate, her toys, the sofa, the window seal.......you name it, she climbs it.
P.S. Look very closely at the breakfast nook in this picture. One of Avery's favorite past times is getting under the breakfast table and moving the chairs all around the kitchen. Being the over zealous and OCD mother that I am, I got exhausted very quickly with this game. And, yes, it is a game. Avery loves to run under the table and "hide" with a big smile on her face. So, for the mean time, if you come over to our house, do not be puzzled by the chairs lining the wall. It is just to save my sanity.
In addition to climbing on everything, Avery loves to read books, sit her in big girl chair, play with Bailey and RiRi (aka Riley-Grandma and Grandpa's dog), look in the mirror at herself, and eat Gerber Grabber packs. She is currently saying all kinds of "words" that mom and dad cannot yet discipher. She can say--momma, dadda, hi, RiRi, Baba, Jacob, Mimi, and ugh! She loves bath time and, in fact, demands it. And she gives the best hugs and kisses in the world! They will melt your heart.
Another big event happened on August 13, 2013. Avery had her first visit to the Conway Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. She was running (yes, she runs everywhere) at Mimi and Pop's house and managed to nail her little head on the seam of the baseboards. Needless to say, she caused everyone concern and took a quick (actually, lengthy) visit to the ER. The doctor glued her small cut shut and within a week, she was back to normal with no visible signs of falling at all. I guess it is true that little ones are way more resilient than we think.

Avery played with my make up bag while waiting on the doctor.
No more bottles!!!
For a little over two months, we have been attempting to make the change from bottles to sippy cups. We had successfully accomplished that shift, except for the bedtime bottle. We were in a routine of play, bath time, and then bottle before bed. Hindsight, I was the hold up....what's the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well, I thought our routine worked great, especially since Avery continued to sleep through the night. So I was fearful that eliminating her one and only bottle would cause issues. I WAS WRONG!! As of September 3rd, we cut out the last bottle and replaced it with a sippy cup. Avery had no issues at all. So I am happy to say that all the Dr. Brown's bottles have been cleaned and dried for the last time. Yipee!!! Last night (September 5th), they were officially put in ziplock baggies and packed away in the attic.
I am so relieved that I will not have to wash another bottle anytime soon!

Avery's First Birthday Party-June 22, 2013
Avery's First Birthday Party was held on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. Maisy Mouse, Avery's favorite character, was the theme for the party. Thanks to Grandma Curran....we had PLENTY of Maisy items for the party. We were abundantly blessed to have so many friends and family attending the party! Avery is such a sweet and kind little girl. The past year has flown by so much!! Thanks to Cherie Flowers Photography for documenting such a fun party!!
